With its sculptural form and artfully layered leaves, the artichoke becomes an extraordinary porcelain object. Every subtle nuance of green, violet and burgundy is applied by hand, revealing the remarkable finesse and depth of Augarten’s porcelain painting. Beneath its naturalistically rendered surface lies a small, precious container – both decorative and functional.
The artichoke joins Augarten’s collection of precious porcelain objects inspired by the richness of nature: the Capri Lemon, created in collaboration with Giambattista Valli, the Orange and the Pomegranate.
Together, these pieces tell the story of a poetic journey from the Mediterranean to Vienna, uniting the beauty of nature with the finest craftsmanship. Each piece is shaped and painted by hand in Vienna, continuing Augarten’s centuries-old tradition of porcelain craftsmanship.
