At the beginning of the 19th century, the Austrian imperial family ordered a modern dinner service with a wide gold rim for large festive tables. With its elegant classicist forms, the pure brilliance of the white porcelain and the famous quality of the Viennese gilding, the imperial service became the model for our “Habsburg” shape with the “Elisabeth” gold decoration. Uncomplicatedly luxurious, the imperial service was popular at court for decades, right up to the time of Empress Elisabeth, and it is still timelessly attractive today.
